Keith D. AndersonKeith Durrant Anderson died September 6, 2011 following an accidental fall at his home. He passed away peacefully in the presence of all of his posterity.Keith was born April 8, 1929 to John Clifton Anderson and Rowena Day Anderson in McKinnon, Wyoming. He was born into a ranching family but spent much of his childhood dreaming of flying in airplanes. He went on to study mechanical and aeronautical engineering. He was drafted into the U.S Army at the close of the Korean War and completed his service shortly before his marriage. He and his wife graduated on the same day from the University of Wyoming. He had earned a Master's Degree and she had earned a Bachelor's Degree. He obtained his pilot's license and spent his career working in management positions for the Federal Aviation Administration.Keith married Lawona Briggs from Manila, Utah following a long association between their families. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 22, 1956. Together they raised three sons, a daughter and a foster daughter. His work assignments took the family to Los Angeles, Oklahoma City, Seattle, Honolulu, Chicago and to Long Beach, California. He held many management positions and was well-respected by his peers, by those whom he supervised and by executives of aircraft manufacturing firms around the world. He received a presidential appointment to the Senior Executive Service in 1980, six years before his retirement.Keith was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called to many positions of service in the church. After both he and Lawona retired they returned to Long Beach, California to serve as senior missionaries for 18 months. His greatest joy was providing service to his wife, his children and his grandchildren. Keith and Lawona have also generously opened their home many times to friends in need. Keith is survived by his wife, Lawona, his brother Morris (Colleen) of Lapoint, UT, sister Beverly (Clair) Terry of Clearfield, UT, sister Cheri (Victor) Bodily of Sunset, UT, sons Klint (Nadine) and Darwin (Renee) of Pleasant View, UT, daughter Kayloa of Layton, UT, son Greg (Amy) of Huntsville, UT, foster daughter Syndi (Bill) Dorman of San Pedro, CA, twelve grandchildren, one grandson-in-law and four foster grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Chester, Kent, Allen and Lloyd.Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Huntsville LDS Chapel at 277 S. 7400 E. in Huntsville, UT with burial following at the Huntsville Cemetery. Friends and family may attend a viewing from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 10 in the Huntsville Chapel.The Anderson family expresses their thanks to all emergency medical personnel who arrived at our home, to the Weber County Sherriff's Officers and to the emergency room doctors and staff at McKay-Dee Hospital. In lieu of flowers, well-wishers are encouraged to donate to a charity of their choice.
