|Death: ||Feb. 23, 1777|
The History of Watertown contains a mention of a Mary, daughter of William Fiske, but it says she was born 1699 and died Dec. 24th, 1702. The Watertown records also say that Eliezer Bigelow, son of Joshua Bigelow and Elizabeth Flagg, was married to Mary, daughter of William Fiske and Hannah Smith, on November 24, 1724. With that information in mind, there are two possibilities, William and Hannah had another daughter, after 1702, and named that daughter Mary also, which was quite common in those days. There is a record of a son, John, born in August, 1706, and another son, Samuel, born January, 1709-10. Mary could easily fit between them, being born in late 1707, making her 17 when she was married. The other possibility is that the record of the death of Mary, daughter of William Fiske, is an error. William and Hannah had a daughter Hannah born in 1696, of which no further record is found. The death of the daughter in 1702 could be Hannah and not Mary.
The marriage Mary Fisk and Elizier Bigelow is recorded in Weston with this exception, the bride is recorded as "Mary Smith". Perhaps she resided with, or was adopted by some of her mother's relatives in Weston, and was there known as a Smith. She was admitted from the Watertown to the Weston church in 1723-4 as Mary Fiske, alias Smith.
Eliezer and Mary had seven children, six born in Watertown, the last, Esther, born in Westminster. The Bigelow Genealogy gives Mary's date of death as February 23, 1777, but fails to give the location. It is possible that she moved away from Westminster to live with one of her children.
