Blanche took over the management of the canning factory that was owned by her father shortly after her first husband, Ernest Branch, died. She was the buyer, manufacturer and distributor for the canned corn. The factory in Marengo, Iowa was one of the few completely electrically equipped corn-canning factories in the state. She personally interviewed and engaged her two hundred employees. In good years, three million cans of corn stock the shelves, with labels varying in style and design and each featuring a recipe. It was her idea to feature recipes on the can, which was taken up by other factories. She started experimenting with having hogs eat the corn byproducts from the factory.

She had three children with Ernest: Gwendolyn Roslyn, Gail Angelyn and Jefferson Howard Branch.
