Doyle Dean Martin
WHITE OAK - Services for Doyle Dean Martin, 68, White Oak, formerly of Troup, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the First Baptist Church, Troup, with the Revs. James Cheatham, Doc Lazerine and David Buckley officiating. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup, under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mr. Martin died Monday, Jan. 14, in a Longview hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1933 in Concord to the late Oin C. and Lula B. Wornick Martin. He lived in Troup for 40 years before moving to White Oak to be close to his beloved grandchildren. Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church, Troup. He retired from Carrier Air Conditioning and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and loved going to the many sporting events of his grandchildren.
Mr. Martin his survived by his loving wife of 44 years; a daughter and son-in-law; two grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law; three brothers and sisters-in-law; three aunts; an uncle; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a special niece; 11 nephews; 13 nieces; and numerous other loving friends and family.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Lula B. and Oin Martin; two infant sisters, Venita Beth and Venise Martin; two brothers-in-law, Buddy Waller and Gene Waller; a nephew, Christopher Martin; and a great-nephew, Carl Dean Prior.
He touched the lives of all he met and to know him was to love him. He had a special place in his heart for children and the elderly.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Martin, Clois Martin, Pete Ledford, Buster Ledford, Claud Obar, Hollis Baldree, Harold Woodall and Eric Nichols.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Morrow, John Ashby and Mr. Martin's nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16.
The family would like to express a very heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr. Charles Albright of Tyler for his wonderful care and concern for many years, the wonderful nursing staff on S200 at Good Shepherd Medical Center, and doctors and staff at Longview Cancer Center.
