Gerald W. Wornick, 76, a resident of Pasadena for 51 years, died Sunday.
Wornick retired in January 1981 as Pasadena police chief after 34 years with the Pasadena Police Department. He was a member of the graduating class of 1957 of the FBI Academy, receiving his diploma from President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Wornick was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pasadena, Pasadena Masonic Lodge No. 1155 AF and AM, and the senior adults department of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Wornick of Pasadena; a daughter; a brother Auther Wornick of Wildwood; sisters Gladys Hall of Jacksonville, Texas, Clidell Elliott of Pasadena; a grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 6715 Fairmont Parkway, with Dr. David Slover officiating. Honors will be presented by the Pasadena Police Department at the church. Graveside services and burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park under the auspices of Pasadena Masonic Lodge No. 1155 AF and AM.
