The Rev. Lloyd J. Johnston, 53, of Greeneville, formerly of Hancock County, died Thursday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital after an extended battle with cancer.
Rev. Johnston was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Tazewell. He was the former pastor of Burnett's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Sunnyside Baptist Church.
The family said that after his courageous and extensive battle with cancer, they feel that Rev. Johnston is finally at rest with his Lord and Savior. His unfaltering faith in Jesus Christ, they said, is the testimony for which he will most be remembered by loved ones and friends.
He was a son of the late Floyd and Leona Johnston and was preceded in death by a brother, Palestine Johnston.
