Melba Mae Brown, 91, of Texhoma, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at her home.

Melba was born July 9, 1914, in Waller, Texas, to Price Van Milton Brown &
Effie Mae Cox Brown. She Graduated from Texhoma High School in the Class of 1932. and from Panhandle State College with a teaching degree, and went on to finish her Master's at West Texas A&M University in Canyon. Melba taught at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch for 45 years before retiring.

She moved back to Texhoma 16 years ago, where she was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Van Milton Brown, who died May 16, 1974.

Survivors include two nieces.

Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Texhoma United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tomisene Ingram officiating. Interment will be in the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma.

The family suggests memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or Texhoma Cemetery. Memorials may be sent in care of Dawson-Welch Funeral Home, 715 W. Main St., Texhoma, OK 73949.
