"Mac" was born to Neil A. and Alice I. Gimby McCallum in Assiniboia, Canada. Mac with his parents and siblings, Margaret and F. Hugh came to this country in 1924 via Detroit, Michigan with their final destination noted as Ontario, California. According to the 1930 federal census, his father worked as a carpenter and the family owned their home at 119 W. Eighth Street in Ontario, California.

Per U.S. Army enlistment records, Mac enlisted on April 3, 1945. His usual occupation was noted to be attendant at gas station and parking lots.

Per 1948 - 1958 California voting records, he and his wife, Marion resided in Cucamonga, California.

Community Hospital. A former manager of W.B. Rundle Quality Cars, he was a
native of Saskatchewan, Canada and a West End resident for 56 years. He is a
veteran of U.S. Army Infantry, World War II. Member of Ontario American Legion
Post No. 112 and a former member of the Ontario Kiwanis Club.
