Mary K. Baker, 88, died Dec. 1, 2005.
She was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Barberton, to John Clarence and Floss (Gensemer) Baker, and was a lifelong resident of Norton. A retired school teacher from Barberton City Schools, she was a graduate of the College of Wooster and Northwestern University. She was a member of St. Paul Moore Memorial United Methodist Church, and a member of Jeannette Chapter 212 O.E.S. She worked for the Summit County Board of Elections, and was a loyal member of the Republican National Party. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha Jean Baker Blackford; and a brother, Jack C. Baker, and is survived by nephews, Dan (Becky) Blackford of Orrville, and their children, Logan and Paige; J.D. (Lisa) Blackford of Orrville; nieces, Jackie (Jurgen) Ploetz of Germany, and their children, Tina, Antje, and Kathrin; Elaine Lannie" Bartter of Wooster, and her children, Kristin (Scott) Payden, Kimberly (Kent) Wargowsky, Kathryn (Art) Arnold; and seven great-great-nieces and -nephews.
