Officer Alfred J. Capasso, DSN 0326, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 01/07/1952. After he graduated from the academy he was assigned to the 12Th, Bureau of Investigation, 10Th, 8Th, 1St. Traffic Safety Section, and finally the 8Th District. When Officer Capasso retired, on 01/23/1982 he had completed 30 years and 16 days of dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Officer Capasso was also a veteran of the United States Army Air Force during World War II and attained the rank of a Technical Sergeant, which is an E-6.


It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Retired Police Officer Alfred J. Capasso. Officer Capasso retired from the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department out of the Eighth District in 1982, after more than 30 years of dedicated service to the Department and the citizens of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Officer Capasso leaves behind a loving host of friends and family that will sorely miss him.

On the behalf of the grateful citizens of the City of St. Louis and these great United States of America, we say thank you for your commitment and sacrifice, and God's speed.

The family requests a contribution to Backstoppers in lieu of flowers.

Son of the late Joe and Carrie Capasso; dear brother of the late Steve, Frank and Carmen; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. Mr. Capasso was a retired St. Louis Police Officer and a member of the St. Louis Senior Center and Sons of Italy Foundations/
