Albino was born in Italy in 1882 in the small town of Ascoli Picenno, located in the province of Marche near the Adriatic Sea. He first arrived in America in 1897, were he lived in South Philadephia with a group of countrymen.Albino had settled in with a position at Sun Ship Yard. He would eventually bring his mother Catherine to America, but elder sister Caesarina remained in Italy thoughou her life.
He returned to Italy four times in all up until 1912. Although his family had prearranged for him to marry Josephine Angelini, whose family property adjoined the Filippini farm. Albino never agreed to this proposal. During his various visits back to Italy, Albino became increasingly attracted to Josephine's younger sister Francesca, who was ten years his junior.
He finally expressed interest in Francesca. Italian customs called for the oldest sister to be married first. Reluctance from both families, approval was given for courtship. Josepine was heartbroken, and Francesca fall in love with Albino.
Francesca Angelini and Albino Filippini were married on June of 1912 in their hometown of Ascoli Picenno. Upon arrival to America, he and his new bride lived in Holmesburgs, at the corner of Ashburner and Torresdale on land that he purchased from the Morrell Family. In August of 1913 their first child was born, Giovannina(Jane). Their second daugther Agnes was born in 1915. The family had five more children, Catherine,Joseph,Mary,Helen, and Ann. Albino and Francesca were very much in love.
