Ray Farrel Sandberg passed away Sat., Dec. 22, 2007, at home in Grantsville, Utah at the age of 80.
Farrel was born in Grantsville on Nov. 9, 1927 to Myrtle Irene (Anderson) and Joseph Dewey Sandberg. He was raised and educated in Grantsville, graduating from GHS in 1946. He married Lucy Alice Roberts May 2, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Farrel was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various ward and stake callings. He and Lucy served Building Construction Missions for the Church in New Zealand, Idaho and Alaska. They brought great joy to him then and in the years since.
He is survived by his wife Lucy; children Annette (Jim) York, Brad (Jodi) Sandberg, Moana (David) Dalton, Wade (Paula) Sandberg; son-in-law Tom (Jodi) Castagno; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grand children; and a brother LaMar (Shirley) Sandberg. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings DeOna Ajax, Mervin and Joseph Sandberg; and daughter Kim Castagno.
Funeral Services will be held Thurs., Dec. 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Grantsville LDS Ward Chapel at 550 E. Durfee St. in Grantsvil1e. Friends and Family may call at the Tate Mortuary, 110 So. Main in Tooe1e on Wed. Dec. 26th from 6-8 p.m. or prior to the services at the chapel from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Interment in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
He made a living in the construction business - he made a life by loving and serving his Father in Heaven, his family, and his fellowmen.
