Minuteman, Revolutionary Soldier

David Robbins was born January 27, 1742. David settled in Rindge, NH with his brother William. David and William Robbins built a saw-mill near their residence, but over the state line in Winchendon, MA. This was the third saw-mill built in the local area. The land he settled remained in the possession of his descendants for generations. David married Mary Ballard, David and Mary had six children, Mary died January 29, 1796. He married 2nd, April 6, 1797, Eunice (Carlton) French, the widow of Jonathan French and daughter of William Carlton. In the Revolution David was in Capt. Nathan Hale's Lexington Co. in 1775, he was a signatory of the "Association Test" in Rindge in 1776, He was in Capt. Salmon Stone's Co. of Enoch Hale's Regiment in 1777, he was in Col. Enoch Hale's Regiment in 1778. He died January 31, 1811, aged 69 years.
