Revolutionary Soldier

Jonathan Sawtell was born January 31, 1753 in Groton, MA, the son of Jonathan and Mary (Holden) Sawtell. He married, October 9, 1777, Hannah Whitaker. Jonathan and Hannah resided in Rindge and had ten children. Jonathan served two enlistments during the Revolution, he was a signatory of the "Association Test" in Rindge in 1776, he was in Capt. Salmon Stone's Co. in 1777 and Col. Enoch Hale's Regiment in 1778. He died December 29, 1830
