Edward J. Przybylski

Edward J. Przybylski, 73, 2300 Jefferson St., Stevens Point, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his home while under the care of his family and Ministry Home Care Hospice Services.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alan Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the services. A general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials in his name may be made to a memorial tree at the Stevens Point Area Catholic Cemetery Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Ministry Home Care Hospice Services in lieu of flowers.

Mr. Przybylski was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Dancy in Marathon County, a son of the late John and Mary (Szymanski) Przybylski. He attended school in the town of Carson and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point.

He served in the Red Arrow Division of the Wisconsin National Guard in 1948 and 1949.

He was married to Alice Ida Chilson on June 24, 1950, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Junction City.

He worked for the Soo Line Railroad for 40 years and also worked for many trucking companies.

For the last 13 years, he and his wife wintered in Mission, Texas, and traveled extensively around the world. He was a longtime member of the Valley Bummers Club of Good Sam Chapter and the Drifters Camping Club.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Randal "Randy;" two daughters, Lorraine "Lori" Skerven and Tammie Jo Anne Osowski; two brothers, Martin (Clara) and Jerome (Gertrude), both of Stevens Point; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Alois, Vincent, Joseph, Frank, Michael and John; and three sisters, Regina, Elizabeth and Eva.

He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Dancy, son of the late John and Mary (Szymanski) Przybylski. He attended school in the town of Carson and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. Edward served in the Red Arrow Division of the National Guard in 1948 and 1949. His marriage to Alice Ida Chilson took place on June 24, 1950, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City. Edward worked for the Soo Line Railroad for 40 years and also worked with many trucking companies. Edward and Alice resided in Stevens Point spring through fall and wintered in Mission, Texas, for 13 years. They traveled extensively including London, Russia, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Panama Canal, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Caracas, Venezuela, Virgin Islands, Canada, and Tallin, Estonia. He was a long-time member of both the Valley Bummers Club of Good Sam Chapter and The Drifters Camping Club. He enjoyed building homes and spending time with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to a memorial tree at the Stevens Point Area Catholic Cemetery Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Przybylski of Stevens Point; one son, Randal "Randy" Przybylski of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Lorraine "Lori" Skerven of Mosinee and Tamie Jo Anne Osowski of Stevens Point; five grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Smetana, Ryan (Michelle) Smetana, Amber Skerven, Kyle Osowski and Katie Jo Osowski; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Alexander and Kelli; and two brothers, Martin (Clara) Przybylski of Stevens Point and Jerome (Gertrude) Przybylski of Stevens Point.

Preceded in death by brothers, Alois, Vincent, Joseph, Frank, Michael and John; and sisters, Regina, Elizabeth and Eva.
