Richard Leon LaCrone, 70, of Three Forks passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at his home. Richard was born in Neodesha, Kan., on Oct. 29, 1940, to his loving parents, Paul LaCrone and Mildred LaCrone-McGinnis.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1965 before moving to Colorado where he worked for the city of Northglenn from 1972 to 1979. He moved back to Kansas and later served as a traffic fatality expert, as well as a member of the BAT team for the Wichita Police Department from 1991 until his retirement in 1999.
Richard moved to Montana in 1999 and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 87 in Manhattan. He was an accomplished gunsmith, enjoyed reading, and loved raising horses and riding.
Richard especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Marie LaCrone; son, Darin LaCrone; daughter, Kristine Bartz; son, Jared Sawyer-LaCrone; four grandchildren, Cody and Blake LaCrone, and Nicholas and Savannah Bartz; sisters, Alice Morgan and Linda Bogle; as well as a large number of aunts, nieces, nephews, and countless close friends.
Services held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Assembly of God Church, Caney, Kan.
