Mary was an active, tiny lady with a great sense of humor. She was an accomplished seamstress, and she could play the piano. She liked to dance and would sometimes do the Highland Fling. She loved her homeland, Scotland, which she would always refer to as "the old country". Mary was also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, along with her husband Colin.

SIM, Mary Rae (nee Waugh) - At Brampton on Thursday April 15, 1976, Mary Waugh, beloved wife of the late Colin Sim, dear mother of Robert of Bramalea, James of King City, Colin of Barrie, Jean (Mrs. L. Clarke) of Don Mills, and William of Thornhill. Sister of Jean of England, David of Scotland, and the late James Waugh of Sutton. Survived by 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 pm Saturday, R.S. Kane Funeral Home (4812 Yonge St. at the Sheppard subway station). Service in the chapel on Monday at 11 am. Interment Westminster Cemetery.
