WOOSTER -- Hazel J. Rigsby, 92, of Wooster, passed away Monday afternoon, April 6, 2009, at Akron City Hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Isonville, Ky., to Jessy and Amy (Lester) Mason and was a life resident of Wooster. Hazel retired in 1972 from Bauer Ladder, following more than 20 years of service.
Hazel enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and knitting. She was a past member of Wooster Baptist Temple.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Velma D. Welch; a great-granddaughter, Susan Amstutz; brothers, Kansas and Woodrow Mason; and sisters, Ivie Kelly, Lily Ridgeway and May Dammer.
Surviving are daughters, Wilma Fahrney and Vella Ogg, both of Wooster; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Stonewall Mason of Ashland, Ky., Loyd Mason of Wheelersburg, and Boyd Mason of Kentucky; and a sister, Wanda Mason of Kentucky.
Services celebrating Hazel's life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Faith Community Fellowship, with Dr. David R. Kimberly officiating. Interment will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
