MANSFIELD — Helen Ramsey Renfrew Ewart died in her daughter's home on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at 5 p.m. at the age of 89. Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High St., in Danville. A memorial service will follow at 8:15 p.m.
She is survived by her children, Gwen Renfrew Tracy of Lexington, Thomas Renfrew of Fair Oak, Calif., Roxanne Ewart Eddy of Deland, Fla., Charlotte Ewart Claunch of Deltona, Fla., and Edward Ewart of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren, Thomas Matthew and Kendra Tracy, Thomi, Thea and Thalia Renfrew, Ian and Ben Eddy, Chelsae Claunch Wallace and Fred Claunch, and Shelby and Carson Ewart; great-grandchildren, Zane, Zoe, Rocky and Ruby Tracy; nephews, Richard and Roger Ramsey and Jimmy Carpenter; niece, Josephine Carpenter Hasenmyer; and several nephews and nieces of her late departed husband, George Ewart.
Helen was a member of the Church of Christ in Brinkhaven. All five of her children were college graduates, of which she was very proud. She voted at every national election for the last 60-plus years. She loved her family, her friends, and the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers. She loved to write poetry, talk politics, and write letters to family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
