Alois Ruhland, 71, died Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Ringling Hospital in Baraboo. For about a year he had made his home with his son in Baraboo, but previously had always lived at Plain.
The funeral will be Saturday morning at 10 in St. Luke's Catholic Church. Until then the body will be at the Scheible Funeral Home at Baraboo.
Surviving are two sons, Edward of Baraboo, with whom he made his home, and Louis of Long View, Wash.; five daughters, Mrs. David Hogan of Milwaukee, Mrs. Walter Haas of Spring Green, Mrs. Walter Dyke of Madison, Mrs. Cyril Volk of Plain and Sister M. Michaeleen of Detroit; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ferry Ruhland and John W. Ruhland of Plain; and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Aron of Sauk City.
His wife died a year ago this coming February and two sons also preceded him in death: Corp. Charles Ruhland who was killed in World War II's Battle of the Bulge at the age of 20, and Daniel who was killed in a traffic accident about 3 years ago.
