STARR ASTRID (MAGNER) BEBOUT, 74, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012. Arrangements by Covington Memorial Funeral Home.
The Allen County Coroner's Office identified four people who died over the weekend in four different motor vehicle crashes.
Starr Bebout, 74, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday from injuries suffered last week while riding in a vehicle hit by an alleged drunken driver who ran a red light, killing her husband at the scene.
The coroner's office said Bebout died from blunt-force trauma from a crash after she was admitted with injuries from the crash that occurred May 8 at Taylor Street and Fairfield Avenue.
Corina Hurtado, 50, had backed into a parked vehicle at a used car lot at Taylor and Broadway and fled the scene, then drove through a red light at Taylor and Fairfield at 9:15 a.m., according to court documents.
Hurtado's 1994 Ford F-250 pickup slammed into a 1994 Chevy minivan, killing Harold Bebout, 79, and sending Starr Bebout to the hospital. Hurtado's blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent – more than twice the limit of 0.08 percent considered legally intoxicated – and she had cocaine in her system, police said.
She was charged with six felonies related to the crash in Allen Superior Court.
