Married 1: Ether (Esther?) Bell Stayton (1882-1904) on July 11 1902. Ether was in poor health and they moved to Colorado in hopes the climate would help her. She died two years later at age 22. ALERT: A photo volunteer searched Double Branch Cem May 2009 and did not locate a stone for Fred. Update 5/24/09: There is an entry for Fred at Oak Hill Cemetery in the Bates Co on-line cemetery listing; a photo request was submitted and a volunteer located his tombstone at Oak Hill Cemetery. It is not known if his remains were moved from Double Branch to Oak Hill, or if the 1950 cemetery index was incorrect.
