Sammy Lee Watson, 61, Blue Springs, MO passed away on October 10, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. Memorial contributions in honor of Sammy may be made to the Roller Party at Watsons Rolladium.
Sammy was born October 11, 1946 in Sedalia, MO to Sam and Venita (Phillips) Watson. He served in the Air Force and the Air Police. He guarded Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Reagan during his service.
He was the Pettis County Sheriff #607 for many years; a member of the Windsor Police Department; and was on the Pettis County Ambulance Service. He owned and operated the Watsons Rolladium in Blue Springs for 17 years. Sammy had been involved with roller skating all of his life and loved to give kids a fun and safe environment to play. He also umpired little league baseball in Sedalia, MO. He loved camping and spending time outdoors with his wife and children. He was a Baptist by faith and previously attended Plaza Heights Baptist Church. He was a past member of the Odd Fellows and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his second mother Fern Watson, and his grandparents Oscar & Nora (Fleming) Watson.

Grandson: William Libeer of Grain Valley, Missouri
Great-Grandson: Cameron Thomlinson of Sedalia, Missouri
Victoria Conner& husband Shon, who was like a daughter to him
Godchildren: Sophia, Kaitlyn, Breck Conner
Brothers: David Watson of Smithton, MO, Steve Wilson of Kansas City, MO, Bruce Humphrey of Sedalia, MO
Sisters: Susan Meyer, Doris Mergen, Janice Engles and Barbara Hageman
