Betty J. Johnson, 79, of Manistee, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.
She was born December 10, 1926 in Cleon Township, Manistee County, the daughter of Delbert and Gertrude (McClish) Morley. Betty married Arthur W. Johnson on Aug. 4, 1946 in Manistee. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1977.
Betty had worked for many years as a machine operator for the Glen of Michigan.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of the Walsh Post in Manistee and a life member of the Elks and Eagles Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Helena Johnson, Bruce and Mary Jo Johnson and Gary and Linda Johnson, all of Manistee; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Donna Dalke of Manistee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Arthur Johnson and her brother, Edward Morley.
According to Betty's wishes, there will be no services. Following cremation, final interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Manistee.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Betty consider a gift in her name for the VFW Auxiliary. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
The family is being served by the Johnson Funeral Home of Manistee.
