Our smiling sweetheart and mother, Sally Ann Metcalf Hymas, 52, left this mortal earth on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in Arco, Butte County, Idaho.
Sally was born December 4, 1953 in Rigby, Jefferson County, Idaho, the third of four daughters born to Lynn Jay Metcalf and Shirley Dean Hobley.
She grew up in Leslie and attended schools in Mackay, Idaho where she made life long friends. She enjoyed band, cheerleading, and excelled in academics.
On June 24, 1972, Sally married her sweetheart, Cleve D. Hymas in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They established their home in Moore, Idaho and were blessed with five children, Debra Lynn, Katie Ann, Doug Colby, Lorie Dawn, and Dustin Layne.
Sally was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she loved serving others in many different capacities. Sally was especially known for her love of Scouting. During her years of service in Scouting, she received the Lost River District Award of Merit and also was honored with the Grand Teton Council Silver Beaver Award. Sally attended Akela's Trail and Wood Badge. She later served as a staff member for each of these courses.
Sally loved everyone and was known for her cheerful smile. As life became increasingly difficult for her, she never wavered in her positive outlook on life. All those who knew her, loved her and she will be truly missed.

At Heavens' Gate
What a wonderful place to be, when our time does come,
the moment when our soul separates from our body, some find themselves in the "glory"… at Heavens' Gate!
At the time of this writing, there is one very SPECIAL person I so speak of (Sally) whose body and soul are still as one…but she is tired and weak from battling a devastating illness. One feels the difference about her soon as you walk in her room.
Of course, she is a normal human being and her body shows the affects of her illness but at the same time, the strength and beauty of her soul just glows…untouched by illness!
So many of us are amazed how one can be so ill yet look so beautiful. When you're in her room you feel the love Sally has for life and you leave her bedside with HER having given you strength! What great pride the Lord has in Sally, a gift to us on this earth…first as a child born…
a daughter…a sister… then a wife …a mother…a grandmother…and for so many of us, a friend!
We've lost so many wonderful people…none forgotten because they live in our hearts!
But their souls are forever and they have crossed at Heavens' Gate! I know when the time comes and Sally lets go from her physical being…her soul will lift towards the heavens and be surrounded in the Lords light…for all time!
