NEW LONDON — Lorraine Angeline Kosse, 90, of New London died Friday at Sterling House in Willmar.
Her funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church, rural New London. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and continue one hour before the service at the church.
Lorraine was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Arctander Township, Kandiyohi County, the daughter of Henry and Ida (Gronseth) Hande. She was baptized on March 13, 1921, on the farm. She attended District 69 and graduated from Willmar High School. She continued her education at a cosmetology school in Minneapolis.
On March 29, 1941, Lorraine was united in marriage to Charles Kosse in Minneapolis. They lived in Willmar prior to moving to the New London area in 1950. For the past two years, Lorraine has been a resident at Sterling House.
She was confirmed on June 23, 1935, at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church where she was a member. Lorraine served as the custodian, church treasurer, stewardship secretary and belonged to circle and enjoyed quilting. She also helped with the lawn care at church.
Surviving are her children, LaVonne (and Hank) Tonn of Sartell, Sandra Kaufman of Jefferson, Texas, and David (and Karen) Kosse of Poolville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Henjum of Pennock, Fern Hauge of Willmar and Joan (and David) Hedberg of Atwater; brother-in-law, Gene Ransom of Plymouth; and sister-in-law, Beatrice Hande of New London.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, on Dec. 5, 1989; sister, Phyllis Ransom; and brother, Russell Hande.
