Mr. William Johnson was born June 20, 1913 to the late Mr. Gobe Johnson and Mrs. Florence Turk.

He departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2014 at his residence.

He confessed Christ and joined the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church an early age.

He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II from April 15, 1941óDecember 24, 1945. After returning from the Army, he married his sweetheart, Louise Ford Johnson and to this union two sons were born. In order to provide more opportunity for his sons he and his family relocated to Miami FL in 1969 where he worked for the City of Hialeah, FL. He worked two jobs in order to send his sons to college. He returned to Dadeville in 1981.

He was a natural horticulturist and enjoyed working in his yard as well as maintaining the yards of several individuals. He enjoyed growing fruits, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants in which he shared with family and friends.

One of the highlights of his life was at the age of 95, he was able to vote for President Barack Obama and he enjoyed watching him speak on CNN News.

Mr. William Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ford Johnson. Six sisters: Zora Burton, Zula Foster, Florence Harmon, Hal Johnson, Daisy Shannon and Lila Ford. Three brothers: Lewis Johnson, John Ed Johnson and Wilbert Johnson. One son, Lynwood Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving and devoted son, William Larry Johnson of Dadeville, AL. A loving granddaughter, Taneka (Lamont) Koonce of Van Nuys, CA. Grandsons: Adam Johnson of Miami, FL and Miles Johnson of Harlem, NY. Great grandchildren: Monty and William Koonce of Van Nuys, CA. Sisters-in-law, Mable F. Shealey and Jessie M. Ford of Dadeville, AL. A host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, caregivers: Annette Hatcher, Carrie Pearson, Dwight Sturdivant and Charles Russell.
