Fleeta Odom Spencer passed away, March 24, 2011 at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis.
Fleeta was born on October 14, 1910 in the Buena Vista Community of Ellis County to Samuel Odom and Nora Paul Odom, being one of eleven children born to that union.
She attended school at Buena Vista and also the Bethel Community.
On September 3, 1930 she married Charles M. Spencer and they had identical twin daughters.
She resided in Ennis the majority of her life and was employed at a bake shop and a Laundromat in Ennis for a number of years,
Fleeta was a lifetime member of the Bethel Baptist Church until it disbanded in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1969, her daughter Bettie Dillard, in 1990 and nine siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Story and husband, Luther of Kemp, Texas; a sister, Maxine Prude of Coppell, Texas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. Kirk Curry officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the charity of choice.
