Charles Henry Busey was the son of Charles & Eleanor Montgomery Busey and the husband of Lamanda E. Ehrman Busey. In 1860, he was a moulder/machinist living in York Borough. He stood 5' 7" tall and had sandy-brown hair and blue eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he first enlisted in York to serve at the rank of private with Co. K, 2nd Pa Inf, April 20 - July 26, 1861. He again enlisted in York August 24, 1861, with Co. K, 87th Pa Inf, and was selected as 1st sergeant. Shot in both thighs at the battle of Monocacy July 9, 1864, but was honorably discharged with his company October 13, 1864.
