Clarence Ernest Lossing was the son of Raymond Wilbur Lossing and Lucille Harriett Kilde.

On December 17, 1966 in Beltrami County, Minnesota, Clarence married Ida Marlene Stately.

SP4 Lossing's tour of duty in Vietnam began on January 10, 1967. He was assigned to Company B, 4th Battalion, 47th Infantry. He was killed in action by hostile ground forces on July 11, 1967. Eight servicemen died in the incident.

SP4 Lossing is honored on Panel 23E, Line 53 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall.
