Birth: Feb. 20, 1802
Death: May 21, 1867

Grandson of Captain Moses Hawkins, who died in the Battle of Germantown in 1777, he was proud of his heritage in support of the American Revolution. He passed this pride down to his son, Oscar D. Hawkins who was a newspaper editor and an educated man. Oscar's youngest granddaughter, Mary Frances Neville registered as a member of the DAR, via this heritage in 1922.
