Caleb was born in Montgomery, Alabama and raised in Lake City Florida. He became a telegraph operator in Boston, where he met his wife Araliza and married her. They then moved to Brooklyn, New York where their children were born, and he operated a business as an electrician (we have one of his account books). Their youngest son (Frank)died in the spring of 1894, and then Caleb died in December 1894.
What was he doing in Cincinnati when his family and business were in Brooklyn?
How did he die?
We know he died in Cincinnati, as his son wrote it in a book he once owned: "The Civil War in Song and Story".
