December 27, 1920 ~ December 22, 2010 Lifelong Tulare resident, Belmida Lorenzo passed away on December 22, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family a week before her 90th Birthday. Belmida Graduated from Tulare Union High School and was proud to have been in the first class at Visalia Junior College (C.O.S.), graduating in 1942 with an associate degree in Liberal Arts. Belle worked at Linder's, Billingsley Bronson equipment and Ellis & Erickson Insurance over the years from 1942-1960. In 1967, she moved from the country family home to her "City Home" where she was a self employed seamstress retiring at the age of 82 years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Young Ladies Institute (YLI). Belmida was preceded in death by her parents Frances & Jose V. Lorenzo originally from Terceira, Azores and seven siblings: Joseph, Frank & Manuel (Pete) Lorenzo and Sisters: Mary Ornellas, Luedivina Lucas, Olivia Coelho and Anna "Willie" Borges. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 3-6 pm at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North H Street, Tulare, CA. Recitation of the rosary will be at 6 pm. Mass of the resurrection will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 1:30 pm at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 E. Pleasant Ave., Tulare, CA. Interment will be at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 E. Kern Ave, Tulare, CA. Remembrances can be made to the St. Aloysius Catholic School. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
