Opal J. Hughey Antinori, 91, of Columbus, GA died at St. Francis Hospital Monday, January 11, 2010.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. this evening, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Antinori was born October 02, 1918 in Tallassee, AL daughter of the late Thomas V. Hughey and Mamie Duke Hughey. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Joseph's House and numerous Artist Associations. Mrs. Antinori was a renowned artist, having her works displayed in several prominent art galleries and venues. She was also a very family oriented wife, mother, and friend.
She will be missed by her family and friends, but her art and fond memories will continue to bring us joy.
Mrs. Antinori was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Antinori and seven siblings.
Survivors include her son, Eugene Antinori of Lancing, MI; one brother, Byron Hughey of New Orleans, LA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
