Coleman Garfield Channel, 48, was killed Friday, July 22, 1983, in an automobile accident on Interstate 95 near Campbells Road. He was a resident of Conowingo, Maryland. He was born December 17, 1934 to the late Oscar E. and Eula Agnes Samples Channel, in Upshur County, West Virginia.
Mr Channel served in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1959, moving to the Baltimore area 1959. He was a foreman for P. Flanigan & Sons, Inc., for nearly five years and for the Baltimore Asphall Company for 14 years before that. He worked for several other paving contractors since moving to the area.
He was a member of the Buckhannon (W Va)Lodge of the Moose and the Happy 75 Club, a Rosedale social group.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Sines Channel, a son, Lonnie O. Channel of Conowingo, a daughter, Connie Stevens of Middle River; a brother, Orval Channel, of Buchkannon, two sisters, Ruhama Grissom, of Brunswick, OH and Acena Shelton, of Hinkley, Ohio and one granddaughter.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m.Tuesday July 26, 1983 at the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, Rising Sun, Maryland with the Rev. Richard A. Moore officiating. Burial followed in Brookview Cemetery.
