"Mrs. Rose Kunz Eschler, 77, 1979 East Twenty-seventh South died Friday at 10 a.m. at her home after a lingering illness. She was born in Switzerland May 16, 1867, a daughter of John and Magdaline S. Kunz. As converts to the LDS church, she and her parents came to the United States in 1873. She was married to Gottfried Eschler May 4, 1882, in the old Salt Lake Endowment house. Mrs. Eschler and her husband wer pioneers of Bear Lake county, Idaho. Later they moved to Logan, where they made their home for several years and where Mr. Eschler died in 1926. Recently Mrs. Eschler had made her home in Salt Lake City. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving for many years in the presidency of the Relief Society and as a teacher in other auxillary organizations. She and her husband were temple workers for several years. Five daughters and three sons survive: Mrs. Fred C. Evans and Mrs.F. Reed Brough, both of Ogden: Mrs. J. Alvin Evans, Raymond, Idaho; Mrs. C. Kent Cazier, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Douglas P. Larsen, San Francisco, Cal; John G. Eschler and Alvin K. Eschler, both of Salt Lake City, and Victor W. Eschler, Ogden. Also surviving are six brothers, William J. Kunz and George Kunz, Montpelier, Idaho; John W. Kunz, Georgetown; Parley Kunz, Heber Kunz and Bael C. Kunz, all of Bern, Idaho; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Dansie, Riverton; Mrs. Hazel Smith, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lucy Hansen, Lewiston, Utah, and Mrs. Lulu Nielsen, Ogden; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Grandview LDS ward chape, 2930 Twentieth East Street. Burial will be in Logan city cemetery. Friends may call at the home of son, Alvin K. Eschler, 722 Sixth avenue, Monday evening and Tuesday until noon." Obituary Courtesy of the Deseret News.
