"Laman D. INGRAM, May 31, 1933 - September 12, 2008 // MIDLAND, GA -- Laman D. INGRAM, 75, of Midland died Friday, September 12, 2008 at his residence. // Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Steve KING offiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 16, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. // Mr. INGRAM was born May 31, 1933 in Columbus to the late Durward Walter Lee and Romer Cornelus GOODWIN INGRAM. He was a 1966 graduate of Hallie Turner Private School where he was the Salutatorian of his class. // Mr. INGRAM served his country during the Korean conflict and continued his service in the Civil Service as a construction inspector for 36 years. He was a member of Gentian Baptist Church and the APGE Union. // Mr. INGRAM had many hobbies and interests that included camping, cooking, baking, fishing, flower and vegetable gardening, hunting, traveling, wood carving, artistic painting, model trains, and Brave's Baseball. // In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. // Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Jean W. INGRAM of Midland, two brothers, David N. INGRAM of Virginia, and Alfred INGRAM and his wife, Jane, of Jasper, AL; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews whom he loved very much and enjoyed spending time with. // The family would like to thank our Heavenly Father, family, friends, and others who crossed Mr. INGRAM's path and contributed to his wonderful and happy life. // Flowers are accepted or doncations may be made to Gentian Baptist Church, 3853 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. // Please join the family in celebrating the life of Mr. INGRAM by visiting" [Columbus (GA) Ledger-Enquirer newspaper, Tuesday, 16 SEP 2008, p.
