4th Virginia Cavalry CSA - On 9/28/1864 he was one of several Rebels wounded by the sabre of U.S. Capt. George N. Bliss in a Cavalry charge gone wrong. Bliss was left alone among about fifty of the enemy and was captured when his horse went down. As Masonic brothers, Captain Moss rode to the hospital in the same ambulance as Bliss. George Bliss earned the Congressional Medal of Honor.
