COSGRIFF RITES SET ON TUESDAY

Private services will be held Tuesday at 4:40 p.m. at the family home for Charles Patterson Cosgriff, 71, president of the Cosgriff Outdoor Advertising company and resident of Twin Falls since 1906.

Friends may call at the Reynolds funeral home chapel from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. Rev. G. L. Clark will be in charge of funeral services, and interment will be in Twin Falls cemetery.

Mr. Cosgriff died suddenly at his home, 161 Seventh avenue north, of a heart attack Saturday at 6 p.m., shortly after he and Mrs. Cosgriff had returned from dinner at a local hotel. Mr. Cosgriff had been in ill health for some months, but seemed better Saturday, according to members of his family.

National Officer
For many years a director of the Outdoor Advertisers Association of America, Mr. Cosgriff was also a member of the Rotary club and of the Elks lodge.

He was born Dec. 21, 1869, in Dover, Ky., and had made advertising and publicity work a life-time career. In recent years he had turned over to his son, Melbirne Cosgriff, the major responsibility of operating the Cosgriff corporation.

Mr. Cosgriff on his own account build the grandstand that stood for many years on the ball park of the Twin Falls Athletic association, of which he was one of the organizers. He was a one-time player in a mid-western league, and was a baseball enthusiast.

He also had an important role in the development of Twin Falls golf course and was president of the Twin Falls Country club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Peterson Cosgriff, who he married in 1910, and his son. Four sisters, Mrs. Lynn Zimmerman, Mrs. J. A. Parke and Mrs. Harry Grey Jones, all of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Ruben Schaefer, St. Louis, Mo., also survive.(Idaho Evening Times, Twin Falls, Idaho, Monday, March 31, 1941)
