Frank is the son of Charles Otto Bowles & Katy Elizabeth Ferrell Bowles.

A funeral service for Frank Bowles, a Lowell, Idaho resort owner, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Trenary Funeral chapel at Kooskia. The Rev. Dorothy Knudson of the Kooskia First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery at Kooskia.
Bowles died June 1, 1992 at his Lowell home of causes related to age. He was 95.
He was born April 29, 1897, to Charles and Katie Ferrell at Boise, in the area where the Idaho State Capitol building is now. His father owned a freight team and made runs between Boise and northern Idaho towns.
In 1906, his father homesteaded on Kidder ridge, north of Kooskia, where Bowles was raised. He attended Lewiston High School.
He entered the U.S. Army during World War I and while stationed at Hopewell, Va., he met Butler Epperson. They were married Oct. 1, 1919, after he was discharged from the Army.
He bought property at Lowell in 1935 and moved with his family to Idaho in 1941.
Bowles built and operated Deerlodge Ranch Resort at Lowell. He also owned cattle for many years.
A member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include has wife at the family home at Lowell; a son, Frank Bowles, Jr., of Boise; a brother, Charles Bowles of Pendleton, Ore.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Josephine Paddison, a granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.(Idaho County Free Press, Grangeville, Idaho, Thursday, June 4, 1992)
