Married Larkin Franklin Swaffar on 15 Jun 1856 in Athens, McMinn Co., TN.

Mother With Over 200 Descendants Died Last Saturday
Survived by a husband 91 years old and six children ranging in age from 60 to 70 years, and over two hundred grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, Mrs. L. F. Swaffar, aged 87 years passed away early Sunday morning from an attack of the flu that developed into pneumonia at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lowry, living northwest of town.
Her surviving children are W. L., of Tupelo, Okla.; Mrs. J. T. Lowry, of Atoka, Okla.; John, of Altus, Okla.; Jim, of Tupelo, Okla.; George, of Warner, Okla.; and Alf, whose home is in Arkansas. All the children were here at the time of her death and remained until after the funeral which was held Sunday evening.
Mrs. Swaffar, born Effie N. Wilson, was born in Tennessee and when fifteen years of age was married to L. F. Swaffar. To this union nine children were born, six of whom are living. Leaving Tennessee the family moved to Illinois and later to Arkansas, coming from there to Atoka county, Oklahoma, about the time the Cheokee strip was opened. The family lived for a long time near Standing Rock. Several years ago Mr. and Mrs. Swaffar moved to Tupelo, Coal county that they might be near some of their married children, and about six months ago came to Atoka and made their home with their son-in-law and daughter mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lowry.
Mr. and Mrs. Swaffar lived peacefully and happily together for over seventy-two years, and have great great grandchildren, some of whom are eight years old.
Mrs. Swaffar was a kind, Christian woman, a faithful wife, and a loving mother, and her many surviving relatives have the sympathy of the community in the loss of one who was so dear to them all.
