Lloyd Glenn Case was born February 22, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Johnnie and Juanita (McConnel) Case, and died August 30, 2001 at Arriola, Colorado. He was buried on Labor Day at the Arriola, Colorado Cemetery.
Glenn grew up and attended school at Cushing, Oklahoma. He was a fun-loving and pleasant youth, a joy to be around. He and his brothers and the Retherford cousins had a close bond. Even though he was born during the depression and was acquainted with the lean years, Glenn was always able to be cheerful and he made the best of it. Glenn's favorite color was blue. Anything he could paint blue became his, including his brother's bicycle.
Glenn started his employment years as a paper boy for the Cushing Daily Citizen when he was in grade school. During and after high school, he worked as a stock boy for the TG&Y Department Store. He became the Assistant Manager and later the Manager in Stillwater and Ponca City.
He served two years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from active duty in August of 1958. He was the same carefree person while in the military. Immediately after his return to Cushing from the service of his country, he was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. As a minister, Glenn and his family traveled many miles through many states, spreading the good news of Christ. He was a Pleasant View volunteer fireman for 22 years.
He was married to Carlene Smart on August 16, 1960 at Pleasant View, Colorado. They lived in Oklahoma for four years before moving to Pleasant View. In 1995 they moved to Arriola. Glenn and Carlene had three sons and daughter-in-laws; Rodney and Debbie of Percell, Oklahoma; Kriby and Jodi of Wichita, Kansas; and Kurtis and Nicole of Dolores, Colorado; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Clifford Capps of Arriola. Glenn has six grandchildren. Glenn had two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Case, and Clifford and Vicki Case, of Cushing; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Eldon Randolph, also of Cushing.
His parents, Johnnie and Juanita Case; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Pansy Case, all of Cushing, preceded him in death.
