Coye Easter Barber was born in Newark, AR to James Arthur Barber and Eliza FiDella Luna. Her parents gave her the middle name of Easter since she was born on Easter Sunday.
At the age of 15 she married James Tracy Clark and began her adult life. As work was scarce in those days, the couple moved around frequently in search of employment, living in Arkansas, California and eventually ending up in Phoenix, AZ.
Coye was a wonderful money manager and homemaker. She was able to put aside money for them to purchase a home, and always had dinner ready when James came in the door in the evening. If time had got away from her and dinner was a little late, she learned that if she just had the table set when he walked through the door he was happy. She did not drive so she walked or took the city bus wherever she needed to go.
I spent many days at my Grandma's house as a child and have so many fond memories of those times. Grandma, you are loved and live on in my heart. I will see you again someday.
