Tommy A. Skuczas of Merrill, Michigan, passed away Friday January 5, 2007, at his home at the age of 70 years. Tom was born January 25, 1936, in Saginaw to the late Anthony and Hazel (Warnemuende) Skuczas. He married Shirley Jeschke on June 5, 1954, she survives him. In his early days Tom had been a farmer but then went on to work for Spence Brothers for 30 years, retiring in 1996. In between his time as a farmer and his work for Spence Brothers. He owned Tom's Shell Service on Genesee and Holland. He enjoyed his hobbies of golfing, bowling, mowing his lawn, and puzzles. Surviving besides his wife, Shirley, are two sons, two daughters, and their spouses, Keith A. and Ann Skuczas of Hemlock, and Ken R. and Teri Skuczas of Merrill, Barbara K. and Dale R. Earle of Merrill, Diane M. and Michael Lamia of Saginaw; and former daughter-in-law Jenny and husband Mike Carlson, of Mt Pleasant; one sister and four brothers, Larry Skuczas, Tim Skuczas, Tony Skuczas, Richard Skuczas, and Karen Hollingsworth; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Marlene Skuczas and a former daughter-in-law Vicky Potter. Funeral services will take place at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday January 9, 2007, at W.L. Case & Company in Merrill. Vicar Anthony Voltattorni will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
