Edythe was born in Centre County, PA the daughter of George Nevin Hoy 1874-1921 and Minnie Elizabeth Swope 1878-1964

Edythe was an accomplished artist. An exhibit is in the Ross Library, Lock Haven, PA. The Edythe Hoy Bossert Gallery showcases items related to women who have been involved with the library over the years and includes a fur coat won in a contest.

She was a member of the Mill Hall Presbyterian Church and married Willard "Max" Bossert on October 24, 1931.
