MARION, Va. Cora Robinson Myers, 91, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va. She was born Feb. 19, 1921, the daughter of William J. and Gorda Robinson. Cora was the widow of Robert H. Myers Sr. Mrs. Myers and her husband, worked together for over 60 years on their farm. She was called upon many times to help friends and family in the making of apple butter and answering questions about family history. She was a Charter Member of Singingwood Baptist Church in Bristol, Va. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Robert and Donald Robinson; and one sister, Hilda Lilly. Survivors include one son, Robert H. Myers Jr. and wife, Shelia of Marion; two grandchildren, Robert H. Myers III and wife, Amy of Atkins, Va. and Joanna Bryant and husband, Glen of Chilhowie; four great- grandchildren, Robert H. Myers IV, Brent Myers, Andrea Myers and Olivia Bryant; one great-great-granddaughter, Jarrahlynn Myers; five sisters, Geneva Robinson of Saltville, Va., Irene Gobble of Wytheville, Va., Juanita Edwards of Christiansburg, Va., Lovella "Tootie" Spencer of Lansing, N.C. and Lena Parham of Gaston, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Beeler officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, in the Ridgedale Cemetery in Rich Valley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Singingwood Baptist Church, Thailand Mission Fund, 16548 Singingwood Lane, Bristol, Va. 24202 or to a charity of your choice .
