Dr. Joseph "Bill" William Reynolds, a well-known resident of Mount Shasta, California, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2012. He was 94 years old and had lived 90 of those years in Siskiyou County.
He served as a US Army doctor in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery after being captured by the Germans in Wingdon, Germany, and narrowly escaped being executed.
Bill attended UC Berkeley and earned his MD at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Over his career, he delivered about 1,500 babies and retired in 1981.
During his long and rich life, Bill had many interests including having his own band, "Joyland." He enjoyed photography, woodworking, and gardening.
Over the years, he had many beloved pets, but was especially close to his labdoodle, Trix. Bill was a member of Dunsmuir Rotary Club, Dunsmuir Camera Club, and Alpha Omega Alpha Fraternity.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Roberta "Bobbie."
Bill is survived by his wife, Helen, sons Richard and Bruce, and daughter Sandy.
