Henry Burdette, was born in Turner County and was the son of Collie Anderson Burdette and Maybelle Beard Burdette, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and a member of Salem Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for the children's class. He also served in the United States Army in Germany during World War II.

Mr. Burdette is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jan Burdette and Craig Burdette; one brother and sister-in-law, C.A. Jr. and Hortense Burdette; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Cleo and Eldridge Beasley, Emma Lou Burdette, Velma Burdette, and Esther Engebretsen; one grandson and his wife, Eric and Angel Mullis; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Mullis and E. J. Mullis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Wilson Burdette; three brothers, Elmer Burdette, Oren Burdette and Grady Burdette; and one sister, Leona Ireland.
