Funeral services for Miss Mabel Rawlings, Lizton, were conducted Saturday
afternoon from the Christian Church, there. The Rev. James I. Shockley
officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. Steve Kares. Burial was in the
Lizton K. of P. Cemetery. Friends called at the Baker Funeral Home in
Danville to pay their respects. She died, August 7, in the Golden Rule
Nursing Home following an illness of several months.
A lifetime resident of the Lizton community, she was born July 8, 1894, the
daughter of James L. and Alice Heorner Rawlings. She was a member of the
Lizton Christian Church and had been a correspondent for The Republican
newspaper for many years.
