Caryn Blair Vang March 26, 1985 - March 26, 2009 COLUMBUS, GAŚ Caryn Blair Vang, 24, of Columbus died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 30, 2009, with Rev. Kenneth Hale, Rev. Andy Merritt, Rev. Buddy Lamb, and Rev. Udell Addison officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery.
Caryn was born March 26, 1985 in Columbus to Bill and Susan Vang. She graduated from Hardaway High School in 2002 and graduated from The University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science. She was currently working on her Masters Degree in Epidemiology at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah. With this degree her goal was to eradicate illnesses such as Tuberculosis. Caryn was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and enjoyed playing tennis, photography, and target shooting with her dad. She will be remembered for her loving and caring personality. When she spoke of you as her friend, you were her friend for life. Caryn was preceded in death by her maternal grandfathers, Roy Jones and Bobby Powell, paternal grandparents, Harold and Susan Vang and a niece, Jayda Jones.
Survivors other than her parents include two brothers, Christian and Tim Vang, both of Columbus; maternal grandmother, Eunice Powell of Columbus; one uncle, Mike Jones and his wife, Penny of Georgetown, GA; cousin, Jarred Jones of Georgetown, GA; and niece, Sydney Vang of Columbus.
